Celebrant

A registered celebrant to prepare a personalised ceremony, marry you and take care of all the paperwork.

Photographer

An experienced wedding photographer for 1.5 hours to cover ceremony, group photos, couples photos and the start of your reception. Approximately 1 month later the photographer will deliver edited, full resolution images from your day via a digital gallery for you to download, print and share as you please.

Wedding ceremony & reception venue

Exclusive use of the Ambassador’s Lounge for the whole day set to your requirements including personalised printed menus, dancing area, lectern and microphone.

White foldable chairs for all your guests, signing table, iced water station, and sparkling wine toast for all your guests after the ceremony.

Pre dinner/lunch drinks

Enjoy drinks prior to sitting down to dinner accompanied by the chef’s selection of two specialty canapés.

Two course alternate serve set menu chosen by you from our event menus, or;
Single serve entree, alternate serve main and single serve dessert.

Beverages

Diplomat beverage package for a period of five hours featuring Australian sparkling wine, red and white wines, Australian draught and light beers, soft drink and mineral water. Plus coffee, decaffeinated coffee, herbal and leaf teas.

Guests start arriving for your ceremony in the dedicated space at the Ambassador’s Lounge (or if you’d prefer an outdoor setting you can make a booking at the adjacent Lennox Gardens, or Old Parliament House Rose Gardens).

Your ceremony will be expertly officiated and every detail captured by one of the celebrants and photographers from the team at Canberra Small Weddings.


5:30pm

photoshoot & pre-dinner drinks

Once the ceremony is over the photographer will capture some family/group photos and then whisk the two of you off for some couples photos nearby while your guests enjoy drinks and canapes at the hotel.


6:00pm

reception

Return to your private reception and celebrate with your guests while enjoying the fine hospitality of the team at the Hyatt Hotel.


10:30pm

congratulations

Your evening concludes. When you arise the next morning enjoy a full buffet breakfast for two at the Promenade Cafe and 2pm late checkout.

Timeline can also be adjusted for a lunch experience.

about the ambassador’s Lounge

The Ambassador’s Lounge is a private and exclusive venue of 128m2, divided into 5 distinct spaces - entry, main dining room, a ceremony room, lounge room, and a generous balcony for enjoying warm evenings, with views across Lennox gardens, Lake Burley Griffin, and Black Mountain. In the cooler months enjoy the warmth and character of the open fireplace. The lounge is climate controlled, has dimmable lighting and inbuilt speakers for setting the perfect ambiance.

Frequently asked questions

How many guests can I have?
The base package of $5,610 caters for 12 people (the couple, plus 10 guests), which can be expanded to a maximum of 22 for an additional $280 per person. If you have more than this number please get in touch.

Do you require a booking fee?
To secure your date a non refundable booking fee of $1,000 is payable. Bookings are not secured until this payment is made. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to the day. This can be paid by credit/debit card or direct deposit.

What if it rains?
No problems the Ambassador’s Lounge is fully enclosed and climate controlled for comfort. The Hotel itself provides ample opportunities for photography inside and if you’re keen to venture out, the photographer will also bring along large white umbrellas for your couple’s portrait session.

Is styling included?
The venue space will come with simple and elegant styling in-line with the example photos on this webpage, but if you would like more involved styling and details we can put you in touch with a professional stylist.

Booking form
